However, finding investors to finance the beginning of their journey is still incredibly difficult. At OpenVC, we provide free tools and connections that allow any entrepreneur to connect with potential investors worldwide.

Madison: Glad to be with you, Spiffy! I work on this incredible initiative called Rise! Rise is a joint venture between Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust that finds brilliant people who need opportunity and supports them for life as they work to serve others. The program starts at ages 15-17, and the benefits include scholarships, mentorship, access to career development opportunities, funding, and more. The nature of this work addresses many challenges. The first is that we recognize that talent is created equally, but opportunity is not. The second is that by supporting these individuals, we are building a foundation for this global community who will themselves address the world's most pressing challenges over their lifetime.

Luca:  Una Terra invests in companies that can contribute to solving two of the critical environmental issues of our days: the warming of our planet and the waste plastic in the oceans. Through our fund, we support company founders to accelerate their growth, supporting them with capital, growth support, and sustainability. Beyond our mission to eliminate 2 Gigatons of carbon dioxide emissions and 1 million tons of plastic waste per year until 2030 (ca. 5% of the total), we also believe implementing a truly sustainable approach can increase returns for investors. We believe we can become the platform for responsible investing in Europe.
