Raven L. Jones: Providing Equitable Literacy Access for All

Raven L. Jones: Providing Equitable Literacy Access for All
Raven: Glad to be with you, Spiffy! We believe in equitable literacy access for all! More than just encompassing the ability to read and write, literacy is essential for developing critical thinking skills, educational opportunities, and building sustainable communities. Since 2017, “The Zuri Reads Initiative,” (TZRI) has provided literacy access, events, and resources for children, students, and families across Metropolitan Detroit and beyond. Seeking to do our part in addressing the widening literacy gap(s) occurring across educative communities, our goal is to take literacy to the people!

Isabelle Hau: Preparing All Learners to Thrive

Isabelle Hau: Preparing All Learners to Thrive
Isabelle: Glad to be with you, Spiffy! At the Stanford Accelerator for Learning, we envision a world where all learners are prepared to thrive in a dynamic future. Sadly, we are in the midst of the largest learning crisis of our lifetime. We need to accelerate quality and equitable solutions that make a positive difference for all learners, starting early in life and throughout the lifelong learning journey. We also need to accelerate collaborations, as none of us can do it alone. Last, we need to accelerate the dissemination of scientific knowledge into practices, inside of classrooms, and wherever learning takes place. This is precisely what the Stanford Accelerator for Learning is working on to pave the way for breakthrough impact for all learners.

Erin Lydon: Bringing Game-Changing Leadership Skills to Girls and Women

Erin Lydon: Bringing Game-Changing Leadership Skills to Girls and Women
Erin: Glad to be with you, Spiffy! In order to be “it,” young girls need to see “it.” Women only  hold 8% of the CEO roles, and, as such, leadership paths aren’t visible for the next generation. It is the conversations happening outside the boardroom that so often determine who gets a seat in that boardroom. We need to get more women into those seats—into the flow of information, allocating the money, and taking the business risks. And that’s where learning to think, strategize, and compete like a winning poker player becomes a game changer.
