At Genomenon, we’re changing the world of precision medicine by using AI (artificial intelligence) to organize the world’s genomic knowledge to help doctors diagnose and treat babies born with rare diseases, and help researchers develop drugs to treat these rare diseases.

Natalia Fernandez: Overcoming PMDD with Community

Natalia: At “period” we address period shame, mental health stigma, and the gender gap in the medical field- falling under PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder). PMDD affects approximately 375 million of the world’s population, and currently, an average diagnosis takes 12 years. Symptoms of PMDD include but are not limited to depression or feelings of hopelessness, suicide ideation, anxiety, irritability, fatigue, and difficultly concentrating. At “period” we inspire, inform, and share stories of PMDD.

Daisy Rosales: Building Community-Owned Mental Health

Daisy: Here in the US, one in five people faces mental illness at any given time. But in contexts where even more lives are affected by poverty, violence, and a lack of social services, that number is estimated to double. These communities tend to have the least access to quality mental health prevention or care, and its adverse effects can be devastating. Brio works to increase access to contextualized mental health support through design and collaboration with local leaders and organizations.
