At Parceiros da Educação, our main goal is to increase the learning levels within the public educational system of the State of São Paulo to the highest in Latin America by 2040. Our challenges include the current learning levels—which are low in Brazil as a whole: only 10% of Brazilian students leave K-12 schools with adequate proficiency in math, for example—and the size of the São Paulo network, which has more than 5.6 million students.

For starters, the majority of programming courses only promote passive learning, with no margin for understanding, brainstorming, or unleashing students’ creativity. Moreover, designs for educational kits are generally dull and difficult for students to apply to their daily lives.

Working with public schools across the US, we donate musical instruments, teacher training, and technology to jump start hundreds of new school music programs each year. We know from 25 years of experience across thousands of schools that music helps young people feel better and do better in school and in life!
