Aidan: It’s great to be here, Spiffy, thanks for having me! At Verdethos, we are tackling the agricultural supply chain using technology to make it more efficient and transparent. There are several commodities like palm oil and cocoa that sometimes are grown in unsustainable methods using child labor or slash and burn technique (for example). Consumers are becoming increasingly interested in understanding where their products are coming from and ensuring they are coming from growing areas that produce in sustainable methods. Our technology allows us to track the products across the supply chain and have a view of where the product is coming from.
Danielle: Ever since I was a kid I have always wanted to change the world for the better. When I was in school and learned about the amazing ways that microbes can help plants, I decided to use these microbes to improve how we grow food so that we can feed the growing human population in a way that doesn't hurt the planet.
Sumesh: Early-career professionals and higher-education students are finding it tough to compete in a job market with a traditional degree. After seeing many people in my own circle struggling with this, I informally started helping them get into better jobs. My co-founder, Abhay, also comes from a background where this problem is very acute. We thought we could change the world for the better if the problem could be solved in more creative ways.
