Maxwell: Thanks for having me, Spiffy! Did you know that K-12 schools lack a standardized process for lesson planning, as most of them use email and Google Docs to get this job done? This leads to time wasting, lack of oversight (which causes instructional inequity), and lack of actionable data. Integrate School works towards solving these problems.
Scott: It’s great to be here! At LearnServe, we believe in the power of young people to create change. Unfortunately, not all adults agree. At best, they’ll call you a “leader of tomorrow.” At worst, they’ll treat you as part of the problem. LearnServe trusts youth, putting them in the driver’s seat to solve social and environmental problems. We bring together students from diverse backgrounds. We ask them “What pisses you off?” and then “What do you want to do about it?” and then we help them to turn their big ideas into real change.
Steven: There is a problem in America where families of color and those living in or near poverty do not get the health and education they need. People in these families live sicker or die younger because of issues that are fixable or can be prevented. At Welfie, we work to make the system fairer and just for families who don't have the money or connections to get better health.
