Justin Aglio: Preparing Each Student for Personal, Professional, and Civic Success

Justin Aglio: Preparing Each Student for Personal, Professional, and Civic Success
Justin: Thanks for having me, Spiffy! Students are sitting in classrooms today with a sense of fearlessness and optimism, ready to create a brighter and more prosperous world, and, as such, our way of thinking and how we prepare learners must evolve and change. “What would it take to prepare each and every student for personal, professional, and civic success?” First, we need to prepare students to be lifelong learners, people with the ability to reskill and upskill as needed. Second, we must find ways to give students real-world experiences that are transferable beyond near-term job openings. Third, we must create meaningful ways for students to lead in their communities and collaborate with others to make the world livable for all.

Erin O'Mara: Nurturing and Mentoring the Independent Journalist Voices of Tomorrow

Erin O'Mara: Nurturing and Mentoring the Independent Journalist Voices of Tomorrow
Erin: Thanks for having me, Spiffy! A strong, independent press is a vital and fundamental part of addressing many of the world's toughest problems. Journalists uncover and tell important stories that would stay hidden if not for their hard work. Journalists speak truth to power, expose wrong-doing, and give people the facts they need to make decisions for themselves and their communities. Journalism can also shine a light on human rights abuses, inequality, and discrimination, and give a platform to people from historically marginalized communities so they can tell their stories and be heard. Journalism creates a free flow of information that can make our city, state and federal governments, and even the schools (your readers attend) work better.

Jose Martin Quesada: Using AI Feedback to Improve Workout Form, Effort, Motivation

Jose Martin Quesada: Using AI Feedback to Improve Workout Form, Effort, Motivation
Jose: Thanks for having me, Spiffy! A lot of people are suffering from poor physical health, poor mental health, and the intersection of both (eg. not liking your own body). Exercise might not sound as sexy as a cure for cancer, and yet it can help with some of the biggest health issues of our time. We wanted to create a product which made exercise highly motivating, so it doesn't feel like a chore. We do that by taking the best things about social fitness, aka, working out with friends, and a sense of healthy competition, to get people to work out not just once, but over and over. We do it by measuring how well and how hard you work out, providing you with real-time feedback and video highlights showing you at your best, without the need for any hardware.
