PJ Mistry: Supporting Visionary Social Enterprises around the Globe
PJ: Thanks for having me, Spiffy! In order to solve some of the world's biggest challenges (think: SDGs), we need to collaborate across all sectors. TRANSFORM is a unique accelerator which unites corporates, donors, investors, and academics to support visionary social enterprises across Africa, Asia, and beyond. Together, we test and scale new solutions that tackle environmental challenges, improve health and wellbeing, and build inclusive economies. Combining grant funding, business insight, and research, TRANSFORM is accelerating the development of innovative business models to help solve global challenges. It was established in 2015 and is led by Unilever, the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, and EY.

Ryan Owen: Changing the Way Business Is Done

Ryan Owen: Changing the Way Business Is Done
Ryan: Thanks for having me, Spiffy! Fair Trade works to change the way businesses buy and sell products for the purpose of benefiting people and the planet. Better pay, safer workplaces, protecting water and forests, all while empowering farmers, factory workers, and those working on fishing boats. We support these individuals with the opportunities they need to provide safe homes, education, clean water, healthcare, and other needs as they identify them in their own communities. Fair Trade isn't a charity where we just give things away—rather, it is a method of using business to benefit workers in ways that are more fair.

Berra Nur Yüce: Using Music for Activism

Berra Nur Yüce: Using Music for Activism
Berra: Thanks for having me, Spiffy! With my project, I am aiming to raise awareness, reach, and inform people through the global language of music. I decided to choose a specific topic to start this project, which was raising awareness about the benefits of music on people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Music has a significant impact on these individuals as it helps reduce anxiety and increases social interaction.
